When I was working, my fiance did most of the housework (I was gone 4-6 days a week so he had to do it). Now that I am unemployed, I do 99% of it. I am also looking for a job on top of all of the housework. My fiance does know how to do laundry, dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, change cat boxes, mopping, etc, but I don't expect it of him UNLESS I am horribly sick (like when I end up with bronchitis in the winter). We also ahve a 19 year old that is unemployed living with us (he was employed up until about 1 1/2 weeks ago). We expect him to help me with the housework since he isn't working or going to school. He typically does stuff if I ask or tell him to. He isn't the type to see that something needs done and does it--yet. He will get there when he grows up, tho (I hope).
Now, if we were talking about my ex husband, it would be a totally different story. Even when we both worked, he didn't do much (lucky if he did dishes or laundry). He cheated on me almost the whole 20 years we were together, used and abused drugs, and took lots of time to verbally abuse me. Pretty much useless.

I am lucky, my husband does about 30-40 percent. If I cook, he will do the dishes. He will help do the laundry, he will vaccuum. He won't put a toilet paper on the dispenser. Weird huh? He also does the outside stuff, and I help with tree trimming. So it all works out.

my husband takes the garbage out that is it!!! i work 2 jobs and take care of a 6yr old oh did i mention my mother lives upstairs from me so i have to do her laundry to.. my husband is very lazey he blames it on not taking his paxil (hes trying to get off of it) but he was the same way before the pill. when he goes to work i spend at least an hour everyday cleaning up his mess. i asked him to take his clothes off on the right side and he said i do it to.. i wanted to hit him over the head with a frying pan and i would have but i had no energy left... i blame it on his mother she waited on her husband hand and foot im hanging in there for my 6 yr old

In all fairness though, I am a stay at home mom of three. He works his rear end off so I can stay home, so it's only fair that I include the house in my job description.

I may be being generous, but 20%. In most cases if I don't do it, it does not get done.
