Sorry to say, but all of your other fish (except possibly the pleco) are eventually going to become lunch for Oscar. Oscars are very aggressive South American cichlids, while the rest of your fish what are considered "semi-agressive," which basically means they consider anything smaller than themselves food. The oscar will eat your other fish, it's just a matter of time. If he doesn't eat them, he'll harrass them until they die of stress, which I believe is why your first two tiger barbs probably died. You need to either find a new home for the oscar (remember, flushing fish is cruel; they simply suffocate and freeze to death in the septic tank! It's also illegal in some municipalities) or find new homes for the other fish. Considering the fact that oscars are more likely to get attached to their keepers and show small signs of affection (mine like to be petted; I grease my hands up with Stress-Coat and rub their sides), and are actually very pretty fish, and the others will just swim around and eat and poop, I'd keep the oscar.

Hope this helps!

Well... your Oscar is a very aggressive fish it will eat anything that is smaller than him/her. You can get rid of you Oscar but there are other options. they make tank partitions which you will be able to separate your Oscar from you more peace full fish. The reason your other fish are dead is because of stress your Oscar is always on the hunt so they are always on the run. you need to make you tank friendly to the other species of fish you have. I have always had luck with and semi aggressive and peace full tank mix. when you go to a pet store to buy your fish pay close attention to the sings not only do they say what type of fish they are but also tell you if they are friendly IE(guppies) Semi aggressive IE(Tiger Barbs) and Aggressive IE(Oscars). if you want to keep your Oscar I suggest either another tank or an aquarium partition. but this will only be a temporary fix because Oscars have a nick name TANK BUSTERS when they get large enough they will ram the glass walls and bust your tank.

Personally i would keep the Oscar as they are a more interesting fish and they can grow to around 15 inches. But like the others have said you wont be able to keep much else with them apart from maybe a large common plectomous. Your peace full fish maybe to big to be eaten but they will be stressed and that could eventually deteriorate there health and kill them. Its always a good idea to ask at the shop/store before buying new fish for compatibility issues. Or there are allot of aquarium sites on the net with info.

An Oscar is a very aggressive fish that belongs to the cichlid family. It has attitude and is a brute. It's also very territorial. It can and will eat anything smaller than he is. I've had several of them, so if you want to keep your other fish at all, remove him and put him in another tank with a couple of other Oscars try a Red Devil.

Unless you want your other fish eaten or mared you should put the Oscar fish in a different tank. The only fish I have seen the Oscar get along with was a sucker fish.

What in the world are you doing with that kind of fish in the same tank as the oscar. I have an oscar, jack dimpsy, and gar and the oscar is so agressive that he's eating the scales off the gar. Pretty Serious!!!

Well I think that you should give it a tank by itself because i have a fish like that but it isn't an Oscar. I bought a fish just like the one i have and my fish killed the new the moment I put it in the tank. Although your Oscar might be territorial like my fish so I think your best bet is to put it in its own tank.

Oscars are aggressive. A friend of mine had the misfortune of finding that out the hard way after it ate all his other fish. Get rid of it, or put it in a separate tank.

Please research and ask questions before buying certain fish. Oscars will eat smaller fish, you cannot put these fish with semi-agressive fish. All the fish you mentioned other then the Oscar are semi-agressive tropical fish. To keep a peaceful aquarium, please only add semi-agressive tropical fish to your tank.

Try giving the Oscar to a small fish store.

I would definitely get him out. Take him to a pet store, or advertise him in your local newspaper. Oscars can be high maintenance when their needs aren't completely met. This one needs his own tank, at least 29 gallons.
