well i do not know about 40 to 45 but i would think a person who is mature enough to have children and want children is when they should have them.. i do not think it is a certain age...i think it is more when they are ready for the responsibility....i think 40 to 45 would be getting a little old to start a family...look how long you will be having to work and taking care of the children...how old would you be when they were in high school...but it is your decison......hope you think it through.....i am 53 and it is quite a chore watching my grandkids.....

I think thats a perfect age. I wish I would have done that. I started my family at 17 and missed out on so much and still am suffering from it. Good Luck.

Not a problem if you have energy- I am going to be an older parent as well- I am 33 now and hope to have my first child at 35. You will have money saved up to pay for their education as well- I think it's a good, sound decision.

it all depends on when you find the person you want to settle down with and start a family and how you are financially - you should want to be set well financially before starting a family

I think you are wise to experience life first. I would wait till i found my one true love, get married, then think about a family. i wouldn't wait till i was about 40 tho...prob 35 is the highest age i would go.

WELL THEIR IS A LOT TO CONSIDER AT AGE 45, WILL YOU STILL WANT TO RUN AT AGE 55 WHEN THE CHILD GETS INVOLVED IN ACTIVETIES AND AT 60-65 WILL YOU WANT TO PUT UP WITH A TEENAGER. ,I MARRIED YOUNG, 21, AND WE HAD 2 BOYS WITHIN 4 YEARS AND I ENJOYED EVERY MIN. OF TIME I SPENT WITH THEM.

Will it really take that long to experience what you intend? You must consider your wife's feelings, too. But certainly it's okay--my youngest was born when I was 42.
