There are many wrong reasons that we went to war. Private Miliraty Firms and Contractors that poach from the military ranks and gouge the government. Lives are being lost so coffers can get full....it is tragically wrong.

Any country, anywhere in the world, that wants to buy oil from OPEC, has to pay for it in US dollars. That is the only currency they will accept, for a variety of reasons. That makes US dollars valuable, since so many countries must buy oil. Iraq was permitted under UN sanctions, to sell a limited amount of oil to provide food, medicine and similar products for their people. Saddam proposed accepting other currencies, like Euros. Iran expressed some interest in the idea. I think it is possible we invaded Iraq to prop up the dollar and protect it's value throughout the world. It would make funding the budget deficit MUCH cheaper.

Maybe not their stock, but their profits. Without a doubt, beneficiaries of Cheney and republicans are scoring big time during this ridiculous war, all at american taxpayer expense. But it would seem that many republican voters would rather give billions to already super wealthy corporations, rather than support health care for folks who can't afford it.

It has been very good for that company (the stock price has about tripled since the beginning of the war). It is called war profiteering, and it is one of the sickest businesses out there.
