Who do you think would win? Don't say Thanos with the gems or whatever or the HOTU because he destroyed the HOTU....I think Phoenix would win because you can't tire her out....Phoenix force without a host because no living being would be able to withstand the force's full powers. She can keep coming back and fight him every time if she dies....plus she can destroy the entire universe so i think Thanos wouldn't be more than a bump in the road....what about any other cosmic beings?

Ok if Thanos has all the Gems with him, then he would win because the gems would grant him the power to control the Pheonix. If Thanos does not have the Gems then Pheonix would win the fight, because although Thanos is so strong and powerful, well the Pheonix is even more.
Winner: Thanos (with Gems) / Pheonix
Oh, Thanos also can't be killed, he's immortal. If anyone succeds and kills him, Death will just send him back since he/she doesn't like Thanos too much, especailly in its "home".
The Silver Surfer vs. Pheonix might be a better match or even Onslaught vs. Pheonix. Galactus vs. Pheonix would be too much but still, she can try, and yes, I realized that you really like the Pheonix so you will totally dissagree with me.

Thanos. He always wins because he always finds a way to win. Nothing can deny him. The Phoenix force is great, but Thanos whooped up the first herald of Galactus and made him his pawn and even took out the Beyonder. Yeah, the Beyonder. Thanos can accomplish anything, and he may lose a battle here and there, but he will alwyas win the war. He's as powerful as Darkseid but backed by the brains of Reed Richards, the wits of Batman, and the grit of Doom. Thanos over almost everybody hands down.

Thanos is on par with the phoenix, plus Death has his back, so he can't die, so I'll go with Thanos. Besides, Phoenix is waaaaay overrated. As someone who worked in Marvel for quite a while, I can tell you guys that the Phoenix wasn't originally the nigh-omnipotent entity it is today.
