Well, it would only be suitable for your Oscar if it were alone. Oscars get very big, and need lots of room to swim around. Bala Sharks get quite big too. Tiger barbs need about 5 of their own kind to school with, or they will be very nippy. What kind of catfish is yours? If it's a Cory, the Oscar might pick on him, or even eat him when he gets bigger. What kind of Knife Fish is it? The Knife Fish probably would be okay with the Oscar, but I might be wrong.
Your fish might be okay in there for now, but later, they won;t be okay.

No balas get to 14" and need to be in schools, as well as needing tanks around 125 gals. Tiger barbs are fine, but need to be in larger schools, around 8. The catfish could be fine, but most smaller ones are schooling, and it's quite possible it grows to be very large. The pleco, again could be a nice small kind, such as a bristlenose, or rubbernose, or could be a hulking 2 foot common. The oscar need a slightly larger tank of about 90 gallons, and also should be alone, as it will eat your barbs. Next time reshearch before getting fish. Try here http://www.fishforums.net/
About the one inch per gallon rule, it works for slimbodied fish under 4 inches. Since roughly 75% of the fish population in the tank are over that, it is very overstocked, even by the inch per gallon rule.

Rule of thumb is to have 1" of fish per gallon of water. This means that a 55 gallon tank would probably have close to 50 gallons of water (deco and gravel displaces some water) so you could have 50" of fish.
As far as the types of fish that you have, your bala sharks are very peaceful, community fish and your oscar is a very aggressive predator. He will eat everything in your tank when he gets big enough. The pleco and knife fish should be fine, but your others, if not eaten (they may not taste good) will be maimed.

Please are not getting silver tipped sharks, those fish get too massive on your tank, They a one fish that should in maximum circumstances be left interior the wild!, The parrots are too massive too, and particularly aggressive. they ought to haven't any under a seventy 5 gallon, yet evan extra advantageous could be extra clever. i do no longer comprehend what variety of catfish you had, maximum of them are the two solitary, or must be in shoals of five or extra. A dwarf pleco like a brstlenose could artwork. a school of cories or the opposite direction up catfish could artwork. or ought to get 5 pictus cats, yet observe those lively rambunctious fish are no longer sturdy tank-acquaintances for fish that are extra comfortable. The fish above different than for the pictus, ought to flow with a million-2 Angelfish or gourami ,And a school of mid dwellers.

Oscars aren't community fish. He is going to get big and mean. Chances are you will have to decide between him or everyone else.

Remember, one inch of fish (length from nose to tail) to 1 gallons of water.
Remember that some of those fish are going to get very, very big.
So, probably, that's enough fish for now.

sounds fine to me. One thing to remember is have only one social group of fish(aggressive, semi-aggressive, or passive--or whatever they're called).
