First impressions: how often are "first impressions" made with one person?

I mean with people that you dont interact with on a regular basis, do you ever get more than one opportunity to make a "first impression" or eqaully important impression?

It varies by the circumstances as well a the person that you're making a first impression on. If you're applying for a job, first impression is HIGHLY important. If you're dating, it's not as important, but still somewhat important because if you're really interested in the person, first impression could have 80% to do with whether or not you get to give a second impression.

So first impression - if it can possibly be the last impression is - in my opinion - highly important.

If it's just the first of a few future interactions, it's probably not critical. i.e. if you know you're getting a job interview and there will definitely be two more interviews.. it could be that the last impression could be the most important and the first one is just a b.s. session to talk about the fishing photos your potential new boss has on their desk and touch only a spec on business and your qualifications!

First impressions are not always the way to go. Some people are shy when you first meet them and once you get to know them they show a completely different side of them. You could be missing out on a good friendship if we always go with our first impressions.

It takes time to get to really know someone, so give them a chance and as most people have stated we can change our feeling towards them.

Sorry but NO, first impressions are a lasting thing, there are next encounters but there is nothing that can replace a first impression. You can always make another impression but it will never again be the first! Hence the name "first impressions"

First impressions can change. I mean I often meet people and have a first impression of them that changes once I get to know them usually it gets better.

i have no clue where you're getting at, but it sounds to me that you're asking if first immpressions are the good first time meeting someone moments. Don't we leave everyone with a first immpression everytime we meet a new person? Good or bad, they're stil going to make their mind up about you, no matter how fair those oppinions may seem. I think equally important immpressions are just regular immpressions that make a person make even more judgments about you. No matter how many good immpressions you try to make atleast one person is going to make the wrong judgment.

They're overrated, you can always change how people think of you,
but yeah a lot of people hold a grudge if you do something wrong,
but do you want a long-term relationship/friendship with someone who holds **** against you forever?
Not important to me, anyways the more important future dates or what ever are better, imho.

That's it just like losing your virginity once it's gone it's gone. Usually the second time around is better so don't put so much on this first impression phrase.

i think first impressions are important if you are going to be seeing that person a lot cause, i know its harsh, but ppl judge you by what they see of you first because they probably won't give you a second chance. but if you don't see them often, then i wouldn't worry about it.
