No it is not hacking. A hacker is a slang term for a computer enthusiast, i.e., a person who enjoys learning programming languages and computer systems and can often be considered an expert on the subject(s). The pejorative sense of hacker is becoming more prominent largely because the popular press has coopted the term to refer to individuals who gain unauthorized access to computer systems for the purpose of stealing and corrupting data. Hackers, themselves, maintain that the proper term for such individuals is cracker.

What he is doing is theft of internet service. Yes the owner and isp company can find him and he can go to jail.

If he is picking up a signal from someone else's home then that is considered stealing and is a misdameaner offense. He has to have permission from the neighbor for it to be legal. The neighbor could find out and press charges; and yes it is possible to get a virus or have his system hacked by the neighbor.

There aren't really any laws but yes it's pretty bad if your stealing from soebody else. People can find out who is on by your IP addess and it doesn't even need to be the police. It could be the person you are getting it from. It's not really illegal but the same time its not really legal. I think it would be better if you didn't.

As long as he doesn't burn his host, or do anything suspicious to or via host where they get in trouble, it will be a long time before he gets caught.
But if he messes with his hosts money, credit, privacy or their mouse, or types anymore phrases like "dedicate yourself to" while they're working privately on their book OFFLINE, the host is going to squash him like the parasite he is.

Yes please stop pretending your a hacker when you and your brother are not one as matrix has clearly stated what the term 'hacker' is. If some hacker did call you one then you can claim to know anything about hacking.

if he buys a wireless acess point and it picks up a signal it is legal because you bougt the acess point. and unless someone complains it is no big deal.

no its not hacking and it is perfectly legal..if the owner really doesnt want others to use the network he/she would put security measures to block others from using it)
