what does this mean when trying to download xp pro over home edition? after reformating hard drive and also getting mini_sys error as second error with first stop error.what is the conflict?

That's a tough one, but #1, check the CD itself for fingerprints, scratches or pinholes..
If you have a boot diskette, boot from it, and type FDISK /MBR
This will ensure the hard disks master boot record is clean.
Be sure your RAM is seated well and that the CD-ROMs laser is clean.
Also try another XP pro CD.

This problem may occur because of Insufficient hard disk space to run Windows or Incompatible BIOS or Incompatible video adapter drivers or Damaged RAM. Check if the hard drive has enough space to Run XP pro. You can also try updating the BIOS. Before installing the operating system (Windows XP Pro), you can try removing all the additional devices like the Printer, Scanner, Video card etc...
