You probably have a fungal infection and need to see your Doctor.
There are over the counter medications for the dry skin on your feet but the nails usually need a prescription.

Sounds like its time to see a podiatrist (foot dr.), from the symptoms you've described it sounds like you've picked up a fungus (ever seen those nasty T.V. commercials about infected toe nails?). There are medications that you can apply or pills that you can take, but a qualified dr. should guide you in choosing the best course of treatment. If you follow instructions, you should see great improvement soon. I hope you get the treatment you need soon, because the longer it goes untreated the worse it gets! You should also be very careful going barefoot because there are some conditions, such as athlete's foot that are very contagious! You wouldn't want to give that nasty stuff to anyone else. Good luck and hope you are better soon.

If you walk around barefoot a lot your feet will be rougher and probably peel. As for your toenails getting thicker it may be a fungal problem.

You have a fungul infection. It's very common and has a different effect on less-ventilated parts of your body. Jock itch and Athlete's foot are most often the same strain of fungus. 'Fungus Nails' is the same strain that has imbedded itself in the area under your nails. It will create a 'thickening' effect in your toenails and will result in discoloration and breaking of you nails (looks quite nasty). the soles of your feet will get very dry, almost callused, and crack (painful). Go see a general practitioner or a podiatrist - catch it early!

You probably have a fungal infection and would need a prescription to get the good stuff, but maybe there are cheaper versions of the RX that are available. Talk with your doctor and see what it is exactly.

Before you go to bed, wash your feet, dry them properly then apply loads (really thick layer) of foot cream to your feet, then either put a pair of socks on or cover in film when you get into bed. The moisturiser will soak into your feet leaving them soft in the morning.

Try changing your shoes for softer ones and an easy cure for nail infections is mouthwash, bathe your toes in it. You can tell if there infected if when you clip them they seem brittle or thicker. Or rub moisturiser in them maybe baby oil...........
