No. Third Parties have never been able to cut to the chase in this country. And I think that may be a good thing.

Despite the tendency for there to be more independents in this country than Democrats or Republicans, the fact is that the power to make changes rests in the structure of a two party system.

A lot of people have tried and a lot of people have failed, but the two party system is here to stay, no matter how hard everyone tries to build a third party.

If you would all get out there and organize to try to build a third party, I would support you and join you. But until then, it's just two parties.

Maybe in the North American Union that will include America by 2010.

If it ever were to happen, it would happen as it has in the past. It typically happens where one of the two parties has diminished and a third party took most of its people and ideology and incorperated it into itself.

But three moderately strong parties in the US? Not gonna happen...

No... I know the most votes a third party has ever gotten were under Theodore Roosevelt with his Bull Moose strategy.

Nope, I don't think so, because we are such creatures of habit. No 3rd party will ever be as strong as the Republicans or Democrats.

Not in the near future, the republicans have the microphone in the house and the democrats are the last comic standing.....Smile

Possibly it appears that the democrats are dying. But not for 50 or so years.
