If you go onto the start button in the bottom left hand side of your screen, then go to prgrams, then accessories, you will see a icon "tour windows XP" this is a good place to start, and will give you the basics for using your computer.

After that you may wanna try some of the "for dummies" books (e.g. word for dummies), which shows you the ins and outs of different programs.
