I think some people are just rude in general. They never worked it, so they don't know what it entails. Fast food jobs are seen as low paying and easy to do, so they dont understand when it takes more than 10 seconds to get their order. I think some of these people should work a day at their local fast food restaurant and see what it takes.

Why would someone mistreat a worker who has control over their food? Although I worked fast food and never did stuff like this, I know of folks who spit or did nasty things to people's food when they were rude and inconsiderate.

People who mistreat others are generally one of the following:
1. Been pampered their whole lives and don't know what it means to work hard for a living.
2. Look down on people because they are insufferably arrogant.
3. Been mistreated in the past as a worker and now feel right to do it to others. (This one is the wierdest.)

BTW, a great measure of character is how someone treats restaurant workers. Get someone who is gracious, they're probably pretty good folks and may make good leaders. Get someone who is rude and condescending, then they probably do the same to their employees, family members, and friends. Here's a link to a related article from USA Today:

"The measure of a man is not how he treats his superiors but how he treats his subordinates"

These are the kind of people that have very few people in their lives who respect them. Thus, they have to stomp on someone to make themselves feel respected. Which is probably why no one else respects them.

Personally, I knew this for a long time, and a scathing comment usually catches these people off guard. Something along the lines of "Just because I work in fast food, doesn't mean I have to respect you"

Don't allow anyone to treat you lower than them, not even your boss. Your station might pay less, but it doesn't make you less of a human being. That point hits home when I told that to my team lead in my billing office. She doesn't treat me like dirt anymore.

Watch the movie Waiting. It's funny!!! If you are one of these rude customers you will think twice before being rude again.

But why I don't know. I try to be the nicest person to the person who is serving my food. Wev'e all heard the horror stories. It's true. I've been in the resturant service in the past and seen alot of stuff. I see alot now just as a customer so I just like to cook great meals myself that way you know what you are getting.

Thats always made me wonder too. Why would you piss off someone that is going to be making the food you eat? Everyone thinks that its an easy job but its really not that easy and there is a lot of pressure in it.

I try to never mistreat the people preparing my food, just in case they spit in it! This is good advice for anyone who is thinking of abusing people preparing or serving food.

These are ignorant fools who could not survive an hour serving other people. Not only that, but they are incapable of putting themselves in someone else's shoes, having no empathy- or compassion for another human being.

They are- in short- stupid in the humane sense.

I think it's horrible when people do that because fast food work is already hot, sticky, and hurry-up demanding enough without having people in your face abusing you emotionally.

Because it goes with that feeling of "I'm better than someone else." It's so false and unclassy. Thankfully, what we do unto others eventually will be done unto us.

not to be rude to you personally, but alot fast food workers are lazy and rude bc they're only getting paid minimum wage. i think if they were paid more they would be happier and nicer. :)
