in stafford Virginia i have been charged with 3 counts each Construction fraud, conspiracy to commit larceny, obtaining money under false pretenses all steming from 3 construction jobs not completed by the company I worked for I was neither the owner the salesman or the contractor Iwas only a carpenter can the really come after me, is this not a civil matter between the company and the client i didn't even get paid for these jobs are there no laws to protect me

I would call a lawyer for a free counsutation about this. They may be charging you because you were directly involved in the jobs, doing the work.

You would probabily need to go after the company with some type of Breach of trust charges to try and show that you were a victum of this company and not a willing party in the wrongdoing.

it very well could be a blanket charge applied to all workers to squeeze them to testify against the owner ( who they are porbally after ), in most cases for co-operatin charges are usally drop if no direct involvement in the fraud can be discovered during questioning. in any case you'll need a lawyer to protect your rights.

How could you be sued for jobs you weren't paid to perform....?

Moreover, why did you work for free?
