I think that if more women would actullay submit themselves to their own husbands as the Bible says, that there would not be so many divorces today.
The problem is most women view the word "submit" as becoming one's slave. That is not the case at all. I myself love being submissive to my husband, because that is how i get my blessings by being obedient to the word of the Lord.

Personally, I think it's one of those weird notions one finds in the bible, social stuff that might have made sense in ancient cultures but which doesn't exactly work today . . . kind of like Exodus 21:7 which, read literally, would permit me to sell my daughter into slavery. I think I'd get arrested if I tried that in 2006!
Interestingly, a couple of verses after this "wifely submission" thing the bible also says that husbands are supposed to love their wives as Christ loves the church. Why don't you ask what people think about THAT?

Submission????? And what century are you from???? What planet are you from???? At least 99% of women these days do NOT submit to their men. When women marry nowadays, it is to be a partner, an equal, to have, hold, cherish--NOT obey (that was taken out of the wedding vows eons ago), etc. IF a woman chooses to be barefoot and pregnant, stay at home and do all of the housework and yardwork without any help from the man and work 24/7 with the house, kids, and husband, then it is HER choice, NOT the mans. IF a woman 'chooses' to work and expect help from her man (which is how it should be as he lives there too, she works too, so he should contribute to the family at home as well as outside of the home), then it's HER choice. In other words, how a woman CHOOSES to live her life is up to her, not some outdated belief brought on by men.
Look around your self, notice what era/century we are in, and wake up to reality.

To say "christian marriage" is ignoring the fact that the country is made up of people of varying religions and atheist views. To say only the "Christian marriage" is correct means anyone who marries in an Islam marriage, Hindu marriage or as civil non - religious ceremony, is therefore wrong. To base a law of marriage on Christian view of marriage altogether ignore the multitudes of people and their beliefs that live in many countries. That's why religion and politics shouldn't mix.

I believe that if a woman is going to MARRY a man, she needs to believe that he will do right and do good and stand behind him, even if you suspect he is wrong. To submit to your husbands every needs and desires and for him to fullfill you as a woman, there can be NO doubt that what he says is the way it is and always will be.

No one should blindly agree to submit to anything. Marriage is a two way affair. Work out all disagreements, but don't agree to submit to something before you know what it is.
