They don't have a job, just collecting my tax dollars through WELFARE, so all they do is screw around, while I work my behind off to support them and their 10 kids.....

Although I think this is a pretty ridiculous question, (I'm sure you just asked it to get laughs), I think that some of the answers are really sad....and ignorant. If you truly want an answer, it can most probably be contributed to inadequate education. When you have uneducated persons having children, their own children tend to learn from their parents and without proper formal education they carry on the tradition of ignorance. Oh, and for Aaron....not to be rude...but your answer was ridiculous. I'm from the "Deep South" and I was not TAUGHT to have a bunch of children....nor am I Catholic or poor!

So they can get more welfare.
This is not true of all lesser well off folk, but there are people out there who have more kids JUST so they can get more money/foodstamps/help from the government. An old friend of mine works at an SRS office and she would see this happening all the time.
Other than that I think we can blame this on people being irresponsible.

Oh cute babies we love them, we need them. If stupid educated, moron's keep taking pills then how will we maintain our population.
At least the so called poor people have time for making love, they are doing something constructive for the country and the government should pay them for having more kids.

So, what the hell are u really saying? That poor people have more babies to get welfare? I will have u know, that i have two kids, on my own, and raised them on my own. With no help from the government! No welfare! I worked three jobs to do all that! SO, I ask u, what are u really saying?

I think poor people have a lot of babies because they have a lot of time on there hands, and each people dont really get around to making babies

Perhaps the lack of birth control methods, inadequate birth control education, not caring about consequences (that is all kinds of people), maybe they feel that it is one of a few things they have control over in their lives. Mostly lack of education in poor urban areas. and health care.
