There has been recent reports of a few cases of exploding cell phones throughout the world. From what I gather, they were all Motorola Razors being recharged (but I'm really not sure). Of course that 3 or 4 cases all over the world is nearly nothing from a statistical point of view (although a lot if it happens to you, lol) which favors the opinions of the people who say they do it all the time. But, to say that it is not dangerous might equate to saying that "riding a motorcycle without a helmet is safe, I do it all the time and nothing has happened".
Edit:
I did a little googling and it seem that different brands of cell explode as well. What explodes is actually the battery and not the phone itself. The explosions occur when the battery overheats too fast. The major manufactures argue that it happens when non genuine batteries or charger are used. From my own experience, using the phone itself will heat batteries and the same can happen when charging. Maybe the combined effect and a dose of bad luck may do the trick.

I have done it millions of times but people have told me that talking on your cell while its charging can be dangerous. because its taking a lot of energy to charge and for you to use it is making more energy. so It can blow up on you. so yah I would be careful. but if you do. just talk while its charing for a little pit then take it off. and if it starts to die again then charge it again and keep doing the same thing. I know it sucks but. its better do be safe then sorry

No, it's not dangerous. I tend to do it a lot when I have a low battery when someone calls.

lol where'd you get that? Cell phones emit small ammounts of radiation, but they do that both charging and not, so no, talk away while your phone's charging.
