We can blame that mostly on technology. When I was a kid time drug by like, and we were forever wanting to reach different milestones. Now with all of the distractions, and things to do, and see, there is just not enough time in a day. I don't believe that the earth is spinning any faster, just that we have so much more to do nowadays. I never believed my teacher when she stated that time would fly by once you got out of school. Well, was she right!! All I can say about that is try to enjoy as much of it as you can without missing everything in the process. Alot to do I know, but don't count on the world stopping to take a break anytime soon.

If time seems as though it is flying, it is because you are probably in my age group. I'll give you a hint; when I was a kid, Davy Crockett was the rage and teenagers were respectful to their elders. We said the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of every school day and we had one television set in our home. You can not imagine how fast time seems to have flown, to me and many others. Have a wonderful life, friend. One that you can be proud of.

It just feels faster because you're getting older and time doesn't seem like a big deal. One of my english teacher's explained it to us once in a random discussion, it kind of made me think.

If you tell a 2 year old that they have to wait another year for Christmas, it feels like sooooo long, because after all, that's HALF their LIFE! Half of all the time they've ever known is what they have to endure all over again. But say it to an 80 year old, and they're like, "eh whatever." You'd get the same reaction if you told them they had to wait 40 years though.

Kind of confusing, I know. It takes some abstract thinking to really understand.

I heard a saying once. "Life is like toilet paper. It always seems to go faster as you get closer to the end."

:-)

it could be that you are getting used to a routine in your life and you might just need a difference. My 8th grade year went by so fast it was unbelievable. The scheduele was simply get up, go to school, come back from school, do homework and other projects, do hygene stuff + fun stuff then go to sleep. Pretty boring. Just a simple change could switch around the routine.

The older you get, the shorter the years are perceived to have become.

e.g.
When you're 2 years old, a year is half your life.
When you're 100 years old, a year is only a hundredth of your life.

Ah yes, the answer is quite simple: YES! As we grow older, time accelerates at the rate of 1.75/ year squared. As quoted by Professor Ning Com Poop

Yes, the years are getting shorter due to the world's rotation is slowing down and slowly falling off its axis.
