What would be the detailed proper steps to get the education to become one? It would be helpful if you gave me a source as well.

4 years college - should take required pre-med courses, but not necessarily a pre-med major. As a matter of fact, choosing another major will help to distinguish you from other candidates and likely increase your chances of being accepted to medical school.
4 years of medical school
4 years of residency (some from older generations may refer to the first year of residency as an "internship")(the standard length of residency for OB/GYN is 4 years, other specialties range from 3 to even 6 years)
After residency, some people choose to go into special fellowship programs to further specialize in a subset of OB/GYN, such as midwifery.

Hope this helps.

well, lots of college. First you have to apply to a 4 year university with a major in pre-med. You will then obtain your bachelors degree. You take your exams, m-cats amoung others. Then you apply to a med school for another 4 years or so and graduate with your PhD. You will also do a residency at the end of your education in a hospital. That is like an internship. That is the basics/the important stuff. I think.
