i charged it for like 4 hours and 30 mins so far, does the first charge usually take longer than dat?

It usually does take a long time, especially on the bigger ipods. Just leave it plugged in until the charging icon stops flashing. Don't use it until then or it could hurt the battery.

The charge time should only take 4 hours. Less on a fast charge. Make very sure that the outlet you are using does not have more than 11 other devices using power. Preferrably charge on a socket which is not within vicinity of other electrical devices (as multiple sockets are sure to use the same breaker). If too many devices are drawing power, there may not be enough voltage to charge the battery.

For me it took about 6 hours in the first charge. Plus it matters by which cord you're using. If you're using a cord to the computer it's going to take a lot longer than a cord to a power outlet. Of course with every I-pod it varies though.

U SCREWED IT UP. THE VERY FIRST CHARGE IS 11 HOURS. any less u will descrease the battery capacity ! charge it again for a full day!!
