People who are taught to blindly follow the president, and not to question authority.

Absolutely! The problem with this war stems from media coverage. People who scream OIL need to wake up! Oil, has anyone bought gas lately? I think we are there to stop terrorist and start a democracy 100%. As the media continues to show only depressing stories and and slander more people become disillusioned with the war. Remember folks we were attacked! And regardless of what CNN or ABC might say Iraq had terror ties. Look at the terrorists in Iraq now. Do you all think they just appeared? We are trying to fight a politically correct media controlled war with savages. Iraq sits in the world's center of terror a democracy is not an easy task under those conditions. Stop watching the news and talk to some soldiers they might change your mind.

Three words: NOT FOR OIL
No proof we went there for oil. Plus, have you seen gas prices these days? If we went there for oil, I'd think that gas wouldn't be this expensive.
First, we invaded Iraq because of "WMDs" and that Saddam Hussein would attack us. The other reason was that Al-Qaeda was connected with Hussein (which is false). It wasn't until later in the war that the status quo changed to "we invaded Iraq to liberate them". Looking at it now, I think we're in there to create a democracy for them and to stop the insurgents. Once that goal is done, we'll leave, but as of now, I feel that we should stay until the Iraqis are capable of governing themselves (we broke their leg, we got to be their cast until they heal).
Okay, I really hate to criticize people, but I can't stand it when they make statements that can't be backed with facts. Firstly, yes, Bush was an oilman and his father invaded Iraq before him, but that gives no compatible proof that we invaded Iraq for oil. On the other hand, there is concrete evidence that Bush and his people made statements saying that "Saddam had WMDs", he's in association with Al-Qaeda, and that "Saddam would cause another 9/11". Look at any news station's archives and you'll find that that's true. Those were the main reasons presented to us for "justification" for going to war. If you take a look at oil, the only thing you'll ever see it associated with the Bush administration is Iraq's Reconstruction. The original plan was for Iraq to use the profits it made from its oil to rebuild its own country, but that backfired because most of the oil reserves are not secured. So tell me this, if most of the oil reserves are insecure, how in the heck are we profiting from "oil in Iraq". I'll tell you this, I'll bet most of the responses you get here is that we invaded Iraq for oil.
SizzlingFajita, so are you one of those people who think that Bush and his other cronies stole that oil for themselves or something? Gee, if we went there for oil, don't you think gas would be less expensive? Or do you think that all that oil just vanished somewhere?

one word
OIL
They'll fight for it untill there is none left.
Okay people lets look at the facts.
Our hillbilly president used to be in big oil.
He got a DUI. He's retarted. He's the only one in his family with a texas accent. He faked being in the service. After all this you don't think he could possibly be in it for oil. come on. Open your eyes.

I also agree with maple boy. Because his daddy never loved him
