I'm on Ebay all the time. Lucky I've never had to retract a bid. However, there is a process. Check under the help tabs. And you can also email or contact the buyer and just explain what happened. Some are sympathatic. Others will hold you to it. Of course even if you win you technically don't have to pay. However, the seller could give you bad feedback.

Bidding on eBay is like signing a contract, you should never bid if you're not 100% sure you want the item.
But, since you already did, what you can do now is retract your bid. I think you can only retract 1 bid per 5 months or something. Go to the help page, type "retract bid" and you should get the instructions on how to do this.

I don't think you can if your the winning bidder. If the auction has closed already. If the auction hasn't closed email the seller right away and usually they will send you an email telling you that it is ok or not. Make sure you save the email they send, so that you have proof after the auction closes if they let you retract your bid. Also there usually is a way to retract your bid in myEbay.

You can't, at least no very easily. You'll have to contact the seller, and even if the seller agrees he could really screw you over and leave you with bad feedback, making it difficult for you to bid on ebay on other sellers' items. Your best bet is to wait it out and pray that you get outbid.

you have to HOPE someone over bids you........... or contact the seller right away and let them know, if they R cool they will let it go only 1 time. if he don't he has the right to report you for not taking the bid. you get marks against you for it. GOOD LUCK TO YA !

You can always contact the seller and see if they will you allow to withdraw the offer. I believe this is also covered under the e-bay rules under bidding.
