My friends like Napoleon Dynamite and I respect that, but to me it's just not funny. Please explain where the humor of that film is.

I didn't care for the movie either....the best part was when his uncle hit him in the face with that slab of meat. My aunt and uncle love the movie with a passion and i have tried to get them to explain to me why they like it so much. i think it's b/c of the random senselessness of it that everyone likes it so much

The humor is that it's awkward and weird. It's all so dry that it just has to be funny. Sure, after a while it's not so funny but it still strikes a person as amusing.

Napoleon is funny on many different levels. I think we've all known "that kid" in high school who was into Unicorns and Pegasi. He's clueless and fixates on such uber-dorky stuff that you just gotta laugh. "EAT YOUR HAM TINA"
The movie is rife with one liners and everyone likes to attempt to deliver one of those golden lines in their best Napoleon voice.

I have no idea why people like the movie, either. I just know they do. A lot. I was in a student government election, and my opponent won campaigning with the slogan "Vote for me and all your wildest dreams will come true." Like he couldn't come up with his own slogan. Gosh!
I couldn't get through ten minutes of that movie, though.

When he did the dance on stage I fell off my chair laughing. It was the opposite of what he looked like. Just a funny movie.

Don't feel like you missing out on something. i am a film student who doesn't like Lord of the rings or harry potter and my friends think i am stupid. different strokes for different folks. if you are still really curious smoke a fat joint and this will enlighten your perception of the film.

It's just so funny how the movie has stupid people who do stupid things. I love of Napolean talks, its just so funny. I think you just dont find these things funny just stupid Hah?( I started laughing just from the previews you know)!

im right there with you. the first time i saw it, i thought it was sort of funny. now every time i watch it everyone else is cracking up and im just like watever. i know exactly where ur coming from.
