Depends on where you are most jobs can't or won't hire anyone under the age of 16. Just because of child labor laws meaning if you did get a job at 14 you could only work probably a maximum of 5 hours a day and possibly not to exceed 20 hours a week. check your local labor laws on specific hours you can work. To most businesses it is a hassle. Good luck on that job search though.

I am glad to hear you would like to get a job. My son went through the same thing last year, wanting to work but nobody could hire him. Due to the child labor laws, anyone 14-15 years old cannot be around any chemicals, machineary, or any other hazourdous enviroment. Due to child labor laws it makes it almost impossible for a company to hire 14 year olds. If it is not the child labor laws it has to do with the insurance of the company. There is alot of restrictions and rules, alot of companies will not risk it.
You may go to your local paper and they will hire for paper boys, and doing odd jobs like mowing yards, cleaning out gutters, weedeating.
Sorry it is hard for kids your age to get regular jobs that want to work, but due to the laws and rules, it is almost impossibe.
Good luck in your search. You may try your local grocery store, I do not what age you have to be there to be a bagger, or maybe stock shelves.

Most states require that you are 16 to be eligible for hire for employment. Call your Unemployment Office and ask what the age limit there in your area is and if they know anyone that can employ at 14. Good luck. Most 14 year olds are not even thinking about finding a job at that age. I commend you and hope you find one.

Dont work at Checkers!!! I was fourteen when I worked there and I was miserable! They yelled at me because "I swept the floor wrong"!!! How do you sweep a floor wrong? I mean, I was sweeping up all that crap in a nice neat pile, and instead, they wanted me to fling it across the room basically so it would be done faster. Wouldnt all that disgusting stuff get in the food? If you think thats bad, they yelled at me because "I letted those darn pickles touch" each other on the sandwich! Its not like a customer would bring back with a half eaten sandwich saying "the pickles are touching". LOL! I suggest not working at a fast food restaurant. I know many of them hire 14 year olds. The work is ridiculous. Trust me!

Most grocery stores do. Publix, Ingles, Bi-Lo any of those. I worked at Publix when I was 14. Quit 3 weeks later, but made 200$. Pretty cool. Remember you have your whole life to work, enjoy your kidlyness while you have it!

Hmmm...not many will hire because of the severe restrictions. Finding something that pays under the table (mowing lawns, babysitting, etc) is prob your best bet.

Franchise companies (McDonalds, Wendys, that sort) don't because of policy stuff. Any other major company won't (child labour stuff)
Try a local business. Like a local ice cream parlor or something like that. Those places usually don't mind.

Baby sitting, lawn mowing, snow removal, sitting with elderly, running errands for elderly- those are real jobs, especially with the latter two. You would learn a lot from the elderly
