This spring I made our schools Pom/Dance/Kickline team. Its a new team, and were supposed to be practicing two times a week this summer. I'm missing out because I'm at my dads house in another state, does anyone know any excercises i can do to get in shape for the season and increase my flexibility?

Get up early (or semi early =) ) every day. As soon as you get up do 10 LADYS pressups, 'cus mens ones make you get bulk. Then Stretch your arms and do 20 crunches. Work on bridges, strat by pushing your shoulders back as far as you can in a bridge, do 5 back semi-roles and do another bridge, this time trying to walk your feet into your hands. Do another 5 back semi-roles. Then stretch for splits, left leg, right leg and middle. Then go into a split and hold it for 3 minutes, do every leg like this make sure ypu stretch first well before going into splits. Practice your leaps and jumps now, as this is the best time to,as you are warmed up and stretched, but not cooling down. Then practice all the moves in your routine seperatley and get them perfect. Then do all your routines 3 times flawlesley, if you make a mistake go back and do it again. Then turn on some music and do a random contempry dance-this may seem really weird, and you'll probably look really weird doing it, but if you do it properly for one song it's as good as a half hour jogging.
Phew, it took me ages to type all that, so it better help!!!!! =) (don't you love my smily faces) Skipping is also really good.

There's this kick thing that our cheer squad does to warm up. We get in, like, 5 lines, so that 5 go at a time and work their way across the gym. You do a right kick, then turn and kick your left leg back like a ballerina, then turn back around and do a left kick, and turn again to kick your right leg back like a ballerina. It really stretches everything out and builds muscle... and it hurts like hell!

run, and STRETCH every day. [very imporntant!!}

and do what i call the "straddle strectch".. lie on your back, put your legs in the air, and spread them out a sfar as you can, holding them down if neccesary. [yes it looks stupid, but its an awesome stretch]

hold alll of your streches atleast 45 sec... work youre way up to a minute...
