This happened to me too! We stored it downstairs in the winter and all of a sudden BOOM it was gone. There wasn't anything different going on that night, than any other night.

In a consumer's newsletter I get, it reports many of the GLASS tops on Martha Stewart/K-Mart patio/outdoor tables explode at will. Didn't see any reports of PlexiGlass explosions.

I'd see a few odd contacts wearing only blue t-shirts, throwing stuff off the patio balcony, yelling "oatmeal is not cake" to the foreigners passing by, whilst sipping Pinot Grigio and 2% milk.

Changes in temperature often do this to plexiglass that already has hairline cracks in it.

yes, it was caused by the heat from the sun, very common..
