Hate to be a party pooper but milk isn't that healthy for human beings. Think of it this way, breast milk is best for human babies, it contains all of the proteins, minerals, antibodies, etc that a baby needs to grow. Cows milk is best for calves, b/c it contains all the BIG proteins (proteins that are too big for the human body to digest and use), antibodies (for bovine viruses), and fat (a TON of fat, in fact) that calves need to grow very big VERY fast.

Sure, milk has a lot of calcium, but the human body can't even absorb it properly b/c of the "big packaging" from large proteins (like casein, the main milk protein). Plus, some dairy cows are ingested w/ hormones (BGH) that quadruple the amount of milk that they would normally produce per day. Hormone-free cows produce 1.5-2 gallons per day, and 8-9 gallons with BGH. And all that is in your milk.

Milk is also a prime place for bacteria to grow, which is why it has to be pasteurized in the first place. The Standard Plate Count test (one of many US regulation tests) states that milk containing 30,000 organisms per milliliter has been adequately pasteurized and is safe to drink. Gross. And finally, it's a known fact that most humans gradually lose the capacity of their small intestine to digest lactose before or around the age of 4, which can result in some form of lactose intolerance.

Personally, I only drank milk with something else (cereal, cookies) and never on its own b/c it just didn't sit right in my stomach and didn't taste so great. Since I found all this out, I've been converted to almond milk . . . . which is awesome.

With cereal....yes.

with warm chocolate cake....yes.
(because it's got that way!)
By itself because it's healthy....no.
I don't like milk unless it's with something.
