I totally agree with you! When i was in high school we were not taught about STD's or the fact that you could get pregnant! You know what they teach? How to protect yourself! I am considering keeping my kids out of sex ed and teaching them myself! I think kids need to be taught that sex will not make them an adult, and they could get very sick, get pregnant or die! It's serious!
I'm going to teach my kids about sex, things to protect them, and more importantly why it is important to wait! Teach them about getting pregnant out of wedlock (or while still in high school!) contracting an std and stuff like that is scary! It scares the crap out of me! I'm so glad i waited till i was married! (My husband and I both did!)
I want what is best for my kids and I want them to enjoy being kids and teenagers! Not being loaded down with a baby and std's!
More emphasis needs to be put on the more serious side of sex. Std's, pregnancy and HIV leading to AIDS leading to DEATH! SCARY THOUGHT!!!

I definetly think people are less worried about getting pregnant. They don't think it's cute at all. A lot of teens just want the sex part. I graduated in a class of 65, about 40 of them were girls, about 15 of those people have kids now. And I just graduated a year ago. I think they are so much more ready for kids now. I think that's why a lot of teens are getting pregnant. I think that those teens that do want babies should have them, if they're at least 16. It really depends on the people. And I think that the sex-ed at home and in schools is there, it's just the teens decision. They need to debate whether the pregnancy is worth it. Many think it is, and that's their choice.
Many of them do have potential and promise for the future. But I think those that would do best out in the real world are those who can balance both work and a baby, and do them both excellently. Also, some teen's future is just meant to be a great mom. It's their choice whether they want to go ahead and continue their future.

SOME want a baby because they are unloved at home. They have no FATHERS around. They look for other males to fill that void. They want something to love. They are not mature enough to realize BABIES are all work they don't give you love they take love take all of your time exc. They think they are cute and wanna dress up a baby and show it off. SOME get pregnant and DON'T want the baby hide the pregnancy and have even hid the baby after birth. There was a story of a girl who gave BIRTH in the bathroom at a school dance LEFT the baby it died. It all comes down to there body can carry a baby b4 they are mentally ready to make that choice. I agree more education is needed. Teens have and will always get pregnant it's a FACT of life. The body is made to reproduce and OTHER people get pregnant on birth control nature is a b*t*h.

I was pregnant at 17 not because it was the "cool" thing to do but because my birth control didn't work. Not all girls that get pregnant in their teens plan on it. I have 1 year old and 2 year old now (same father) and neither were planned. My fiance (boyfriend at the time) and I planned on having kids after I graduated college but it didnt happen that way. I see what you mean though. My kids were surprises not accidents but there were a lot of girls in my class that were getting pregnant just to do it. If I could go back and do it all over, I'd still do it because I love my kids and they are my world. After I had my second child, I made sure to get an IUD inserted because there is a very slim chance of getting pregnant while using it as birth control. No more babies for me for another 4 years. My fiance and I have never depended no anyone else to take care of our children. We support them financially, emotionally and physically(they've always lived with us). I am going to college next and getting married next year so our girls can have a great life. Don't think that everyone that gets pregnant in their teens intended to do it and don't think teen mother will never amount to anything. I know there are a lot out there that make all teen mothers look bad, thats why you shouldn't stereotype.

I think your right but I think its the parents fault if their 13 year old gets pregnant and birth control at 13-15 is too young because to me i think when a parent buts there 13-15 year old daughter on "da pill" is basically sayin "go head have sex do what u want jus as long as u dont come in here prgnant" thats insane and shows bad parenting

Yes there are some stupid girls out there, but honestly most of them aren't doing it to be cool or because it is the "IT" thing. Accidents happen....ppl need to get over it and find something else to winge about...

I think that most don't really want to get pregnant. They are just too young and inexperienced with life to know that sex has SERIOUS consequences. The ones that want to get pregnant-well that's just sad!

i know right. it really sucks. especially on here all the little girls asking ?'s about sex and pregnancy. I'm with you though but mainly in the home. and i think that parents need to be more aware about what their kids are doing and who they are with etc.

Pregnancy is not an "IT" thing. If a teen girl gets pregnant then it was an accident.

i suggest that their parents put them on some birth control so that they do not have children they think it is so easy because they babysit someone elses children but they do not understand that it is more difficult than just babysitting but they figure it out once they have one and do not want to take care of it any longer
