They only occur on my ring finger on both hands. It could be stress, but when I was on steriods for streep throat they went away. Now they come back every few months but not as bad. Any ideas?

You could go to the doctor. Each time they will give you a lotion to clear it up. I have those from washing my hands too much. So now I try to use the antibacterial stuff that washes your hands without water. I don't get as many now. I also take a finger nail clipper and pop them. I found if I do this they don't get as big, break open and then itch.

jewelry allergy maybe? I know a guy who gets boils on his fingers all the time (and steroids would make that go away, too).

yeah, I have some ideas, use Lamisil AF to cure it.
