Was Monopoly around back then? That would be my guess, and it withstood the tests of time.

I was a kid in the 50's and we played, Piggy in the Pen Wants a Motion, Hide and Seek, Hopscotch, Baseball,
Annie Over, Frozen Statues. Jump Rope, High Water, Marbles, Jacks, Pick Up Sticks, Mumbly Peg, Tops, Cowboys and Indians but the best game of all was JUMP BOARD. You had to be able to find old weathered boards that were 3 x 10's or so, strong and you place them over a rock or a small high spot and people got on each end and you jumped and sent the other flying and then they came down and sent you flying ,like the men in the circus, but ours was not fastened down. If you landed square you could jump for a long time. If you came down off center the board would spin and you had to jump away or it would whack your shins good. You got to jump till you fell off. If you had a big kid on one end they could send you into the stratosphere. I tried to find a board to teach my kids how to do this, but they do not make boards like that anymore. They were not weathered and would bend too much. I bought some 2x10's at the lumber mill, but they would not work. I have a scar on my forehead from kick the can. I started school in fall of 1953.

Yes, marbles, and jacks............ but dont forget dodgeball, hopscotch, and all the skipping games that you can think of. We also played softball, a lot and hide and seek, stuff like that. And then in winter, we were able to play fox and goose, as another type of "Tag".......
