monkies that people got as pets and could not mamage being cared for in a Chicago rescue near the Lake

for those of you who are worried, I do not have a monkey. I saw a volunteer with one at the Lake, and I would like to locate the shelter to make a donation. I was so taken with the critter I didn't think to his caregiver for more information. I am amazed how quickly people jump to negative conclusions without having all the information.

Here's an exotic animal vet. Call them and ask them who they can recommend.

I've also included a list of other rescue orgs. Try some of them. The owner may have to drive out of town, but it will be worth it to get the animal into a good home or sanctuary.

Many shelters will not take them because of the diseases they carry that are a danger to humans.

Go to the SPCA. They take in all unwanted pets. Or, as I like to call them, innocent victims of people's stupidity.
I hope you are going to be wiser about pet ownership in the future.

My suggestion would be to contact the nearest zoo and ask them if they know the name of the organization.
