I recommend leaving your hair growth down there natural.
And this is why
The doctor doesn't care, but would prefer that you don't have any bumps down there at all. You are making the exam more difficult and opening up yourself to infection.

I know an OB-GYN and she doesn't care as long as what you do doesn't make to hard to diagnose an STD or other infection. Also you doctor probably cares about you so they don't what you to increase your risk of a skin infection from shaving if you are susceptible to getting the ingrown hairs.

I recommend leaving your hair growth down there natural.

It is OK to shave - what you experienced is shaving rash, just like you might sometimes get on your legs after you shave if you use a product that irritates the broken skin.

As for what a doctor prefers - I don't think they really care. They have probably seen everything you could imagine - fully shaved, extremely hairy, landing strips, piercings etc. I know it is really uncomfortable having to expose yourself like that to a doctor but I found I am more confident if I have showered just before I have gone to the doctors (so I feel "fresher"). If you think it will help, ask for a female doctor or at least to have a female nurse present.

Shaving is a personal choice. Doctors don't care if you do or if you don't. A vaginal exam is not the most pleasant thing in the world, but most doctors are very compassionate if they know you haven't had one before. Just say so. You can even tell the nurse before the doctor comes in. One day you'll look back and see that it really wasn't all that bad.

The doctor isn't going to care! They have seen everything by now anyway. If you're having bumps after shaving, try using Bikini Zone after shaving.

properly explan why you'd be speaking about a woman's curves, if there wasn't some sexual element relative to it? Are you an artist? in the different case, it isn't common to no longer be suspicious of your motivation for speaking about a woman's curves, if it wasn't of sexual relevance. Edit Bimbo- definite, human beings speaking about your male body will be out of laughter. i believe sorry for you.

If you're worried about getting bumps, wax down there instead. You can have it professionally done or do it at home. I do it at home. If you don't use a cheap wax it's not nearly as bad as everyone makes out. You almost never get irritated skin if you put moisterizer on right away.
