454 is overrated a tad. right now out of the box it's the viper engine.

If you are talking about the fastest production engine in terms of 0-60 times, I think it would be a toss up between the Corvette Z06 and the new Ford GT. Both cars will do sub 4 second 0-60 times.

The 'vette has the new 7.0 liter 427 cube engine

The GT has a 5.4 liter 330 cube engine and is supercharged

Production motor? well it would be either the chevy 7.0 427 in the corvette ZO6 or the Ford GT engine i think it is 5.4 liters but it is supercharged. however i know for a fact that the Corvette engine is underrated in power(claims 505hp) because you can buy the EXACT same engine as a crate motor and it makes closer to 550 hp. If you are talking crate motors, then it is easily the 572ci Chevy motor. it makes 720hp and 685lb-ft or torque.

Motors cannot be measured in speed. Vehicles can, though. A Corvette will be much faster than a pickup truck with the same motor, because the Corvette is lighter, and is geared for speed rather than hauling. But your Corvette can't haul two tons of concrete blocks, either.
