I guess they should have taken Defoe instead of Walcot. But whats the big deal about England Strikers, when you have the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham and Joe Cole, who score enough goals. Remember last season Gerrard and Lampard scored 40+ goals between them for their club sides. There isn't a team in the World Cup that has the strike rate of the England Midfield at moment. England can play with one striker and 5 in Midfield and we would still probably outscore most teams on their day

England are Great...always think that and you will see...Their game against Sweden well they have always had a history on never beating the Swedes only drawing...Erickson played the men as he did for a reason he was protecting the players that received yellow cards so they can play in the next round if he had played the guys for the full match there was a risk they would get another yellow card hence not playing in the game on Sunday which is soooooooo important. I noticed Rooney was substituted 3 1/4 the way through the game, did you see how angry he was?...again another reason...protect the foot and agreement with his manager of Manchester United....

If finishing top of the group with below par strikers is the result of a curse, I hope it holds out for the next round !

SVEN!!!!

Seriously, Defoe and Bent (and AJ) must be going beserk right now. The beanpole and the kid are the only ones who are fully fit. Rooney is struggling, and there was a huge question mark over Owen.

The only explanation is that Sven made a pact with the devil, wherein he would deny England a decent strikeforce.

Failing that, it was a witch doctor from Ecuador.

I DONT BELIEVE ENGLAND STRIKERS HAVE A CURSE ON THEM, ITS JUST PLAIN BAD LUCK BUT WE CAN NOW ONLY GET BETTER. CAUSE ELTON JOHN DID'NT HELP BY STATING THAT HE WAS BOARD WITH THE WORLD CUP & COULD'NT HAVE CARED LESS, BLAME HIM.!!!
GET WELL SOON MICHAEL OWEN.

Elton should get right behind the England players!

England always find some excuse for not playing well. They are relying on Rooney too much. They didn't bring eough strikers to Germany with them.

Unfortunately there's no strength in depth, a poor turnout for a football team, and it gets tougher from here on in.
ecuador won't be easy, they might all be back to visit michael owen sooner than they think,
get well soon michael, poor chap

Is this the latest excuse for the Ingerland team ? It really is getting boring. Why don't you Ingerland supporters just admit that, when a decent side plays you, you'll be pooed on.

Pog ma thion !
