Their policy is to try to stay as long as possible and hope that something good happens. Unfortunately for everyone, no one in the administration has any military experience and knows little about military tactics or the mid-east. Recently 100 experts in military tactics were polled and 86% of them said that the Iraq war in unwinable at this point. Any of these "positive" developments in Iraq that we sometimes hear about are usually token victories, which are blown out of proportion by the media and the administration.

At this point, the best bet for Iraq and the U.S. is for all of our troops to be pulled out and let the Iraqis determine their own fate. The U.S. presence there is only deteriorating the situation.

It's Stay and Win. If you don't stay, you can't win. And if we don't win, hell will be visited upon many Iraqis, Americans, and others worldwide. What would you do? Cut and run? Leave the innocent Iraqi people to the merciless terrorists? Let terrorists run wild and free to do whatever they want? Iraq was a breeding ground for terrorism. They even had a plane fuselage at one of their terrorist training camps so terrorists could practice taking over planes (sound familiar?). If we run away, it will once again be a breeding ground for terrorism. War is sad, painful, destructive. But sometimes, in the world of Man, it is the only way. War has occurred throughout the history of Man and, one way or another, it always will.

no longer comparable to Vietnam. no longer good the two. do no longer purely blame the Republicans. Many Democrats had to have voted for it or it does no longer have occurred. I particular want there became an consumer-friendly answer to this subject and a lot of others. no longer that easy. Iraq maximum possibly won't become a lot greater beneficial than it became earlier. most of the blame additionally should be positioned on the UN for letting Iraq get away with telling them to F-off as they are asserting. It became the UN mandate that suggested that the UN became to intervene if Iraq did no longer adhere to the determination. It became the UN that stored making new resolutions until there have been seventeen of them. i'm no longer siding with Bush the two. there are a number of blunders made and not purely the u . s . making them. solutions are actually not consumer-friendly to return by. it may by no ability have occurred the way it did.

No choice. Iraq was invaded illegally and consequently the occupation is also illegal. Unfortunately, by invading and removing the head of government, albeit a tyrant, the action has resulted in a power vacuum.

Although the US has appointed a new head of government (via an election to at least make it look legitimate) there are numerous rival groups who also want power. Saddam, whether you like him or not, maintained control.

If the US pulls out now, chaos will rule for years.

Fr Chuck, you actually want war? That's not very christian is it.

i have a freind in mosul/iraq, he said under saddams leadership that they were only receiving 5$US a month, now with the americans there they earn 150$US a month. That comes with all the increase in their economy.Saddam made it that nobody could choose. If they tried to leave his army, they had their ear cut off, until too many of his soldiers died, so then it was surgically partially removed about 5 a week,my freind witnessed this in his military duty working at the hospital.
If the americans stay sure they are already paying a great price with their lives, and helping that country to get its self together. But like i said to my friend ," but you still survived on 5$ a month" now that is amazing...

We can't just cut and run. We made the mistake of going in and now we own seeing it thru.

Policy? What policy? You can't get a straight answer from the gov. The policy seems to be -- pour billions/trillions of dollars into Iraq so that politicos and business can make money. We have LOST, literally LOST, billions of dollars there. And Iraq reconstruction was supposed to be from oil revenues.

The battle was awesome-- we kicked their butts. That's the tip of the iceburg. The planning and "post confllict" was completely screwed up.

The policy is "Never admit you made a mistake", and don't withdraw because that proves you made a mistake.
