I was at school which is a block away.It was my first year at college and I was in my English class when we heard a loud boom.No one knew what it was and when I exited the campus building I looked up and saw a hole in one of the towers.Everyone thought it was a mistake at this point. As I walk to the corner the second plane hit the second tower, although from my angle all we saw was a fireball. At this point things got hectic and we started seeing people jump.People were screaming crying and yelling. Some people said grenades were being thrown from trucks etc....It was very confusing and scary.I didnt get home until ten that evening when the subways opened up.I remeber walking to the 57th street train station and the street being empty, then a tank rolled past me and it was mind boggling.A tank on 57th street!I didnt return to the area until this year, and it doesnt feel the same at all.I often think about how occupied the area was before 9/11 and now all of that has changed. Its so sad and my heart goes out to the families.I didnt know anyone in the towers but I cried for them many nights after 9/11.New York WILL NEVER FORGET!!!!!!

I Will Never Forget That Day , Just Typing About It Gives Me The Chills. I was Working Out On My Tread Mill, And I Put The Teli On, And It Wasn't But A Few Seconds On , And The News Broke In, I Was In Shock , Saw It All ~ I Cried ~ I Screamed ~ I Was So Upset ~ And Angry. I Just Couldn't Believe What I Was Seeing Was Real!
And Now That You Bring Up That Day, How Can People Keep Bashing The President Of The United States! Is It Because They Forgot ? Is It They Didn't See Or Hear About ? ~ Or Is It They Just Don't Care! ~ SAD~ N ~ SHALLOW MINDED ! ~*~*~*~*~*~ Peace.

I was in the middle of 9-11's tragedy. We were discussing ratios and percentages when a teacher from next door ran in and told us to turn on the school TV and when we did, we saw the second plane hit the towers. Everyone was devastated and everyone in school was totally withdrawn and quiet for the next week to two weeks.

I was just starting my first year teaching (I was a week and a half into it) when the school guidance counselor told us what happened. I thought it was a freak accident.
We watched the replays during lunch. One teacher got upset and left the room. At the time I was dating a pilot but he was not yet a large craft pilot (thank goodness).
Since I was in an elementary school, we had a emergency meeting to discuss what happened and what would happen tomorrow when the kids returned.

I was reading in bed. I had turned the TV off after the morning news because I got so tired of Greta Van Susteren yakking about Chandra Levi being missing and about how Gary Condit must be guilty of something underhanded or be responsible for her disappearance. My son came home from school and told me to turn the TV on. When I did, my blood ran cold...

To start I am not a morning person but that day I was up and running the vacuum cleaner and was watching the news at the same time. It totally devastated me, seeing the people jumping from the towers. I cried for each and every one of them as if they were family. That is a day I will never forget. On that day heaven opened its gates for alot of angels to come home.

I had the day off work and didn't get up till 12:30. Flipped on the radio and went about my normal business till I realized the radio hadn't played any music for ten minutes. I listened to what turned out to be a news feed then turned on the TV to a local channel and realized what had happened.
