I really like the band Interpol, and I've heard that they are heavily influenced by Joy Division. I'm interested in listening to their music, but where do I start? What's best? I've never heard a single Joy Division song.

Hey - I started listening to Interpol cos I heard they sounded like Joy Division. They only made 2 actual albums, everything else is compilations. The 2 albums were 'Unknown Pleasures' & 'Closer' which was released after the death of Ian Curtis. 'Still' was meant to be the final release, compiling rare tracks and their last live performance. There were also only 2 singles released so 'Substance' and 'Permanance' include lots of rarities/B Sides/album tracks rather than being a greatest hits. There is a fine box set called 'Heart & Soul' which pretty much includes everything they ever made.
If you're going to get one album to try, get 'Closer'. If you're going to get any songs get 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', 'Atmosphere', 'Twenty Four Hours', or 'New Dawn Fades'

hi Guru truthfully "constantly variations" by potential of Love MA: I actual have by no potential succesfully found out what an Indie Rock Band is, if Husker Du or The Jayhawks count variety i will say them. BA: truthfully definite, I relish polls.
