If people could support and get on with one another all the time in the same way as they do in the aftermath of a disaster like the South Asian tsunami, this world would be a better place.

The end of the world as we know it and going to heaven. Spread the Good News about Jesus.
Little things add up. Do things like recycle, don't waste water, don't litter, car pool when possible or use mass transit, etc.
Volunteering is a nice thing to do and can help out the community or have farther out reach.
Whatever strengths you have, find a way to utilize them to improve your neighborhood, chruch, community, nation, the world, whatever. Find your calling.
Talk with people, care about them, and try to be nice to everybody.
Truth be told, everybody, everyday makes the world a better or worse place. Some people have done so much for humanity, the world, etc. yet you never hear about them. It's a combination of the little efforts and big efforts that make this world a better place. Some people focus on little things like making nice cards for the soldiers in Iraq and some feed people dying from starvation. It's all important.
Don't get discouraged and try to improve the world. It's something I need to do too. Good luck!

I believe that in order for something to become 'good' again, an atrocity needs to occur. The best years (in modern times) were after WW2. America and Europe had its best times. There was a sense of community (even for black, Hispanic communities in the US)and no crime. I live in South Africa which was quite different than those place after WW2. S.A. didn't really participate in WW2, so it didn't re-invent itself like the states and Europe...

So maybe another World War? People have forgotten what a war does to a country. Oh... The 'war against terrorism'... IS NOT A WAR! Just thought I needed to clarify it in case someone tries to use it as an anti argument.

We all have to look at our planet and save it .if we start alternate programs ,I believe we all can make this world a better place to live by showcasing sustainable ideas,. solutions to the problems that face us in the future .,Links are to be made between the school systems, so they can develop jobs, in the green protection,, task force ,and trade shows, and entertainment sector, with client student membership, and government funding, will create revolving doors in each major city. this would pump money into youth support programs, and expand to make the world a saver, and better greener place to live.

Regime change in the USA with an open and independent investigation of just about everything that has happened and alleged to have happened since Bush stole the election in 2000, and of course in 2004...honestly it is more likely that Jesus returns...either way I'm Ok with it.

What would make my world a better place is not answering a question asking what I think would make the world a better place...

I suppose that makes me a glutton for punishment.

The Christian voice was quickly raised here - yet how much blood is on the holy texts of the major religions of the world? The Buddhists are truly peaceful, yet Christians in Ireland, over the actions of a quite psychotic king (Henry VIII), will murder fellow Christians, and vice-versa. The books of the Old Testament are full of battles and bloodshed. And as for Islam, they claim to be peacable, yet are happy to kill Christians, who in turn kill them.
Wither religion, and may peace blossom, as we embrace our similarities, rather than fight over our differences.

The world would be a better place if we would all truly embrace what it means to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, as Jesus taught. The trouble is, most of us don't really understand what it means to love ourselves, so we are unable to love others as we ought to love them. To love ourselves, we must first understand how much we are loved.

God created us in His own image and then came to earth as man (and yet wholly God) so that we might know Him and His love better.
Psalms 139 speaks about how much he cares for us, as does John 3:16, 17. I pray you will come to know how much you are loved.

You can't because the people with power will not allow it and with so much confusion about god, people don't think about that, they get their fill by watching the news and stocks and how much they have and could care less if you are poor, because they will say you are poor because it your choice to be that way no matter how much you try
So take away the rich and powerful and take away the poor and helpless and churches should stop preaching sin

Meditation!
Everything at its core is pure energy. God is everything so that pure energy IS God In the beginning everything was good (high resonating energy)
When man decided he wanted some of the power for himself, selfishness, greed etc, man created bad (low resonating energy)

When we meditate we lift up our resonance which brings us closer to God and the collective higher consciousness (wisdom)
With wisdom we can change the world!!!!
