I would choose:

Margaret Cho, Korean-American comedian
(for laughs and current political input)

Anjolina Jolie (because her interview on "In the Actor's Studio" made me understand that there were other people "like me" out there, with firey natures, who are often misunderstood, and who are so driven that if they aren't given productive opportunities will harm themselves, but who can make a real difference)

Jesus Christ (I'd like to clear up some misunderstandings and get his perspective on Gnostic gospels and divinity)

Alice Paul (women's suffragist, who would have a lot to say on gender and feminism, I'm sure)

Cleopatra (I'd love to learn about the politics of Egypt/Rome, her negotiating skills, her lovers, etc.)

Jim Henson (a great promoter of peace and multi-culturalism, as well as an artist and educator, I admire his work and legacy)

The Buddha (I'd like to learn more from the source!)
____
We'd talk current and ancient politics, religion, social change

Hillel, the ancient Jewish philosopher, Jesus, to explore their similar philosophies on the treatment of other human beings

Martin Luther King, Gandi to explore the similarities in their phlosophies and compare them to the above

Einstein, Stephen Hawkings to explore their genius

Mary Magdalene, Jezebel, and Cleopatra - to explore why great ladies are often remembered as whores instead of heroines

Sorry, that's 9

I'd have one main topic of discussion and I think all these people could actually give some good insight of how to achieve it.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO GET THE USA BACK INTO THE SPACE RACE? HOW TO COLONIZE SPACE, DEVELOPE NEW TECH TO GO FATHER, FASTER AND SAFER? WHAT DIRECTION SHOULD WE TAKE INTO OUTER SPACE? HOW TO ACTUALLY ACHIEVE ALL THESE GOALS?

I addition I'd talk about other stuff too.

Any astronot that actually walked on the Moon - Ask what was it like of course. What was the most memorial moment? Is NASA dead, should we get rid of it.

John Quincy Adams- Though I'd worry about seeming like an idiot around him he had passion for almost everything and I think almost any topic would be well worth talking to him about.

Ben Franklin - How could I not want to meet this charming man, and I hope he'd spend time flirting with me. And he knew how to get people to do things.

Augustus - Empirer of Rome and one of the best rulers the world has ever seen. I'd like to learn politics from him. If anyone could see a way to achieve the evenings topic he could.

Lucial Ball - She'd just be fun and might also give me some good business tips, especial in deal with men. Both the dealing with men (as it still a male controlled world) and he business savy would help the USA.

Jackie Chan - Again fun to hang with and he's so full of life. I'd mostly like to see how he interact with everyone else. Plus he has such passion and energy. I bet he'd have tons of idea's of how to get the Space program going again.

Thomas Edison - Get tips on invention design process, how to set up your own business, and what ethics he followed when designing new inventions.

Bill Gates - I'd also want to know how he could release win95 knowing how bad it was? (yeah there are better programmers and programs but I have to give him credit where credit is due. He's systems dominate the world, they are the most user friendly for people that don't have a clue and he's had a heavy hand in shaping the modern world of today in an incredable short period of time. It might be argued someone else might have done what he did, if he hadn't been there first but the fact remains he did it.)

Gee... tough one since I would have to make sure they all are happy with eachother company. However if I can have dinner with each one seperately. I would pick

-Alexander the Great, so I can talk with him about the culture and history and military stragery of his time.

-Hitler, so I can figure out why he decide to blame everything on Jewish and what exactly he was trying to do and how he think. (I DON'T like the man but I find him very odd and want to know what went wrong and may figure out some details that haven't been answered)

-Kaoklai, a K-1 fighter from Thailand. It's amazing how a such small guy could compete against a heavyweight and do so well. Also he seems like a very nice guy.

-Apidej, a very famous Muay Thai fighter from 1960's. He is known for his sick powerful kick that is very capable of shatter a human femur and once broken both of opponent's arms with a single kick.

-bloody Mary, a queen from some point of history. She's known to kill girls and bath in their blood. I think it will be funny to take her out on a date. Just imagine the stare we would get lol.

-President bush, to ask him why he is so stupid.

-Whoever the last king of France was. It would be funny to ask him how it feel to be lead to the gullotine and be beheaded by his very own people. Yes I like to piss people lol.

-Last of all, my biggest idol, Theodore Roosevelt! He's a very intelligent man, he seems like a really fun person to be around, he is crazy and have lived almost every kind of life possible! What is there to not like about this man? :-D

Alexander Graham Bell, Former President Jimmy Carter,
Former President Abraham Lincoln, Former President George Washington, Mr. Ted Koppel, Former President John F. Kennedy, Lucille Ball, Mr. Bob Hope. We would talk about the world today, how it differs
from earlier years. How former presidents view our society today. How we have moved forward in all aspects of life from the 1800's and up. How wonderful comedians like Bob Hope and Lucille Ball brought much to the comedy world. Where and what should we do from here politically and health wise for this country, besides taking every cent people have to stay alive.... Then we can set and talk about family, scools, colleges, religion, our favorite meals, snacks and God.

I don't know if I can narrow it down to just 8. How bout I just list a bunch of people and say i'd have more than one dinner?
Hillary Clinton, Tim Robbins, John Kerry, George Soros, Michael Moore, Al Franken, Cindy Sheehan, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton.
We'd talk about all the great Americans who died so they could bash this great country. And then I'd have Ted Kennedy drive them all home.

I would choose Adam and Eve and ask them" WHAT EVER WERE YOU THINKING?!?"
I would choose Daniel the Bible prophet and ask him his feelings on seeing All his prophecy's fulfilled, is it frightening or gratifying?
Alexander the Great for sure, He concoured the entire then known world, and then won the allegiance of all his captured cities and countries, NO ONE today can do that how did he?
I also would Invite Jesus, but to sit back and listen to him, some times we learn more from listening than talking.
Anne Frank, I would ask her how she remained so gentle and hopeful in such a horrid and hopeless situation.
Also Jackline Kennedy, surely there has never been such grace under fire. A beautiful example for all of us.
Emilia Earhart, I have always wondered what happened to her, and did she disappear on purpose or did she die in an accident.
What caused her fascination for flight, and her nerve to try?
Then I surely would invite JIMMY BUFFET, He just makes me smile, and I think his laid back style would put people at ease like his music puts me at ease! Thanks for asking, that was fun!
