Hi, First of all, I live in California and our laws, codes, rules and regulations are different here than there.
But if you are thinking of starting out on your own you would have to have a separate case with you and your baby. We have already established that, however, if you are going to remain in the same household with you mother you must become separate. What that means is that you have to keep your food separate (maybe have a separate refrigerator), and you pay for a portion of the electricity and other bills that you are accuming.
So, the first thing to do would be to have your mother take your baby off of her case and you start a new one with you and your own baby. Beware though, sometimes this creates animosity in the household and you and your mother should talk about this before you decide to go ahead and do it.
If you move out the household and get your own house:
1. you would have to take your baby with you
2. you have to report that you moved out of the household so that you
can have your baby removed from your mother's case and added on to
the one you will have.
I hope this helps.

I don't know your situation, but you are coming across as pretty selfish and lazy to me. First of all, all this time spent trying to figure out the best way to get a free ride on welfare could be better spent trying to find a job. Secondly...how horrible can your situation with your mother possibly be that the idea of bringing yourself and your baby to a shelter is better? I'm sorry...but that is just crazy wrong...you'd be exposing that baby to all sorts of sickness, wierdos, drugs, and who knows what situations! At least at your mother's house you would have only her to worry about. You need to think about giving that baby a better life...and if you can't do it...then give it to someone who can!

Although it would be difficult, consider getting out of the welfare system altogether, and pulling your own weight in your life. Rather than figuring out how to get in the right classification so you can be a dependent forever, try to figure out how to create some independence for yourself - get support from your baby's father to pay for child care, and get a job.
Best of luck to you, and God bless.

you want to put your child in a shelter .no way good for your mom no child need to be raise in a dam shelter. your selfish as hell for wanting to do that to your child .why don't you just leave with out your child and let your mom take care of it until you can do better.that would be the right thing to do.
