It's a background check. Most employers do this to see what kind of past you had.

If you are already working at a daycare and they said"don't come back without a record check or background check " perhaps they are suspicious of you and or want to get rid of you for some reason. If you aren't a felon or been convicted of child abuse or molestation and your record is clean then get a check of everything they are asking. Maybe its just something that they need on file.

Thank God they care enough to do a record check. It's simply a back ground check to make sure you don't have a record. With all the problems in today's society with kids getting molested by those who were thought to be trustworthy, I think it's wonderful that the daycare center wants to take precautions.

it is not specifically a police check to see if you have any sexual criminal offences on file .They run your name to see if you have a criminal record period.Certain jobs do not exclude you from employment with their company just because of having a record.Example:if you apply for a job where you are handling cash or expensive merchandise and you have been convicted of theft, don't wait by the phone. In Canada, you go to the police station and pay 35 dollars and they give you a print out of any and all charges ever laid,so yes ,your check is probably a check for physical or sexual abuse. Bigdogie

It's an OSBI check, a background check...etc. You can't be a felon working in a daycare center. It's a good thing...keeps children safe.

It sounds like another way to say "Background Check".
It is a report that an employer has "done" on you to look for anything that might be a problem for them, in terms of employing you, as in - criminal background/convictions, credit score, legal problems, etc. You have nothing to worry about unless you've been in trouble. ; )
