I took my caps lock key off of the keyboard by prying it off with a small screwdriver. It will go back on any time I want it to but I keep hitting it by accident while chatting.
Dwight's tutorial is cool. I'll try it out.
It didnt work but it might be because I'm running 3rd party software for my wireless keyboard.

note:/\ your editing your registry with the other guy. as long as you know what your doing go ahead but if you dont, dont. Dont want to make a mistake and destroy your PC do you?
you cannot in any way Disable the caps lock key....you can just try not to touch it or mistakingly hit the key..

i don't believe of you are able to in simple terms disable it, yet you need to objective popping it off, then putting some thing less than it to end you from hitting it, and putting the most decrease back on. Prying it off shouldn't do everlasting harm to the keyboard, even if it matter on the layout.

Hit the caps lock button once to turn it on; now hit it again. Voila, it's off!

copy and paste the following into a file called disablecaps.reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,3a,00,00,00,00,00
then close/save the file, then duble click it. Voila.
you should make a file to "undo" this too containing the following:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map"=-
save that unto...I dunno...undocapsfix.reg
If you need to undo the capslock thing, double click your "undo" file.
