As mankind speeds towards our greatest achievements, the one thing that we neglect is old mother earth. Sooner or later either the effects of humanity will have become to much for the environment to support us and the earth's natural elements will take back from us what we have changed around the globe. We will have over polluted the planet with our waste and demands for the latest gadgets. the farmlands/fisheries will no longer be able to grow the crops or provide food. The oceans will evaporate slowly over the next several centuries as the global temperatures rise, as the ocean temperatures increase life in the ocean must adapt or become extinct (man's fate possibly). Some time around the year 3000 earth could be a giant desert and only the insects will survive to become the next dominant species.
(If were smart we will migrate to the other planets in the solar system [the Moon, then Mars and Venus] and finally to the stars and other planets.)

I think once all the oil/gold/gas etc has been raped from the earth we will suddenly discover that it actually served a purpose and the oil acted as a lubricating agent, the gas buffered the tutonic plates, and the gold/diamonds etc were there to conduct electromagnetic radiation and without all that there will be all manner of catastrophe. I reckon it will all end in a big fireball or massive earthquakes. Of course I do hope it is a long way off..lol.

My theory is first the climate will change drastically, the tides will rise killing countless and razing many of the worlds oceanside cities, as things start to heat up people will start to die first in the hottest spots...the middle east.
Other parts of the world will start to get cold...really cold and freeze killing all plant and animal life.
Just as this really starts kicking our butts a comet is going to strike the earth in the Indian Ocean. By itself it won't wipe out the world but the aftermath is going to dreadful...darkness and freezing cold because of the debris cloud.
Life as we know it will cease to exist but the earth will remain intact until the the sun burps and wipes out the first 3 planets.

When the government turns on Religion. All Religions
It will one day see that religion isn't keeping the masses quite.
Not doing its job. Right now the religions are pretty much in bed with politics. Governments will turn on religion destroying her.
then God will step in and destroy the governments and Jesus will rule the world. It is all in Revelation. That's what it says read the book.

i don't worry about the world ending, well the propheys are already started to fullfill. we don't have to worry about the world ending for a while, it won't happen untill the entire world has the same currency, and every single person will have had the chance to hear about God.
i am not worried about it if it happens in my lifetime Jesus is going to come get me!

When Britney becomes prez...lol
But seriously, I do believe population will eventually become a problem, unless people wise up and decide to limit the amount of kids they have.
