well unless ur willing to stand up to her and tell her off , then youll always be fighting and cause years of sadness and not to mention hurting ur hubby. so its best just to stay away from eachother , but 1 thing i will say is donot let her put u down , lie about u , be rude to u , dont let her get away with it

It depends on how often you guys see her. Ask yourself what sets the two of them off and try to avoid those situations. And if you can just ask your spouse to get along with her and go her way. Unfortunetly, elders are supposed to get more respect, and they expect it two. Your mother-in-law may dislike your spouse more if some kind of agreements isn't reached. I really hope your relationships works out and that you all can find a way to live happily amongst one another.
