its difficult to find free anything. but, part of the fun of creating jewelry anyway is making something new that you design. instead of looking for patterns, search the web for inspiration.
try jewelry departments at a website like www.anthropologie.com
or look in magazines for glass bead jewelry ideas. when you find
a design you like, take notes on how it was done. when you find a design you don't like, take notes on how YOU could make it better. pretty soon people will be trying to copy your patterns!

I am a huge firemountaingems fan, too. There are wonderful to deal with and have huge gallery of patterns on their website. Their supplies are reasonably priced and their customer service is outstanding.
