We know dolphins are smart, we can teach them tricks as well as come up with their own. With todays tech, would it be possible to make one side of a tank as well as the entire verticle space from the top of the tank to the ceiling one large video screen? We could then animate complex dophin stunts for them to copy or even learn to reply back to them.

a regular screen should be plenty good enough, unless you were trying to get to several dolphins with one screening. and yes, dolphins learn by observation and they would likely learn how to perform the behavior, but how would you ask them to perform it? there would be no recognizeable signal from you to indicate it. assuming you added a virtual version of the trainer to teach the signal, it would be perfectly possible. however, dolphins love the contact, the interaction and the rewards so it would be easier to just teach them the traditional way. or at least they'd be happier learning that way and be more likely to perform.

Hell yeah! I plan on it. I want to raise some from birth and try to learn their noises, not them learning ours. I've seen people teach dolphins to answer questions by pressing boards but it didn't seem very high tech. The best way to find out would be to spend a lot of time with them from their childhood. Then we could see what they're really capable of. They're obviously capable of a LOT but it's hard to communicate with them since they're underwater. I want to build a house with an attached ocean pool and tanks/ tunnels that run throughout the house so they could come inside and see what you're doing whenever they wanted. I can't wait haha
