This question is about a book! I have good friends, I have noone putting me down. I have problems and I find that books sometimes help you to find ways of solving problem. (by giving you ideas, exercises, strategies etc.) Please don't lecture me.... it doesn't help!

There is no book that is going to make you feel better about yourself. Developing better self-esteem means removing yourself from situations that drag you down, such as peers insulting you, and then repeating to yourself, in your own mind, what you want to feel about yourself, until you believe it. You already know that you have low self-esteem, so now pinpoint why. Does someone call you names? Isn't that just expressing their own ignorance? Do your folks say your worthless? Maybe they had a bad childhood and are only doing the best they know how. That doesn't make it right but obviously you know in your own heart that whatever is bringing you down is untrue. Be around people that build you up. Is there someone you can trust to talk to? if not, email me... I will listen. Sometimes, you only need to get your concerns out of you and let someone else help you understand that you are a good person.

Great question. I had horrible self-esteem as a kid. I think you never really get past that until you start to see yourself as the way God created you to be. For me, Romans 8 was liberating. I thought I was just fuel for hell and no real hope of being anything in life or death. Romans 8 says that God loved me so much - while I was a scumbag sinner - that he pulled out all the stops to save me. I've got God going for me, I thought, what else matters?
That may not work for you quite as well, I don't know where you are so wounded. God created you to love. He expects you to do great things. Low self-esteem keeps us from fulfilling our purpose in life. One of the most memorable books i've ever read is Mans Search for Meaning by Vicktor Frankl. He survived the Nazi Holocaust and tells of the freedom he found in the concentration camp. I think that finding meaning in life, and purpose for yours, will go a long way to helping you see the fabulous person that you are.
Don't worry too much about yourself. All people struggle with self-esteem. You'll be fine. I am doing much better these days, myself.

Yes. Actually this book is not about self esteem but about life. How to view others and yourself and how to treat yourself and others. It's called 'A spriitual solution for every problem' and I would combine that with ' what to say when you talk to yourself'
