I don't think you can unless you've emancipated yourself from your parents. I know I had to either wait to sign all the paperwork and leave after I turned 18, or have my parents sign as my legal guardian. I ended up waiting until about 2 months after my 18th bday to leave for basic. You could technically leave on your birthday though- I think the recruiters can help you with that.

Youngest you could connect is like sixteen years and eight months (if I remember good), youngest you could connect with out parental consent is eighteen years. So yeah, you're good. At 18 you're legally an grownup. EDIT: @ the above answer, the fatality fee between Australian squaddies is tiny. we've practically been backing the individuals in Iraq and Afghanistan with the aid of fact the sh|t hit the fan yet we've in user-friendly terms suffered approximately, what, 20 fatalities? we've performed a small yet consistent function over there.

Are you wanting to sign up because you want to serve our great country, or because you feel it's a quick and easy way to make a fast escape from something you don't want to face?
If you want to serve, then be certain you want to face all that comes with military service. It is not a cake walk, but it will help you become a better person if you'll let it. You'll still have to wait until you're 18, but that will simply give you more time to consider your choice.
If you're hoping to run away from something by joining the army, bad idea. Have you ever heard the saying "Out of the frying pan into the fire?" Face whatever it is you're having to face with dignity and grace. Whatever you decide to do, try prefacing it with time spent on your knees in prayer. God is listening and waiting for you to listen to him. He really does care. He died trying to show you how much.

You'll have to wait till you're 18.

In a tight wad?! Can't say I've heard that before.

I don't think you can without parents consent but speak to a staff Sargent for the branch of the military you want to join they will help sway your parents to allowing you to go

I joined when I was 17. I can't remember if my parents had to sign for it, I'm sure they did since I was a minor.

It can be done on very rare occasion. Go talk to a recruiter and tell him you want to, they might be able to help press your case...but I think either way you would have to at least be a high school grad.

You'd have to emancipate yourself. Its not a walk in the park tho. You have to go before a judge and prove your parents are unfit.
