I like writing, helping people, music and being sociable.
I need a new career fast, something plausible that doesn't involve much training (as I cant afford to be unemployed cos i have a mortgage).

Sounds like you would be good at being a home health aide or working with mentally challenged adults.

Find a company that will train you on the job. Either a workshop, adult daycare center or a nursing home should offer on the job training. Once your trained and been working a few months you can go into private duty care if you don't like the instutional type setting.

There might be some private care companies that will train you, but I know those aren't as common as the others I've mentioned.

Anyhow the skills you've listed would all work well with that. Theres lots of older people that would enjoy having someone helpful, friendly and creative helping them or keeping them company.

Perhaps you could get a job with a local newspaper. You'd need to be willing to do general work around the office until they can train you in a specialized field where you are needed. Emphasize that you enjoy writing (read books on journalism), helping others (interview service agency people and write an article to encourage volunteers to fit their needs). Write a feature article about a local band. Take samples of your writing and let them know you're willing to learn. Good luck!

Launch a new magazine; requires writing, you can have an Agony Aunt, a music page, and you can go to promotional parties. All of that pretty much fulfills your description of the above.

However, getting an ideal job fast probably will not happen, so I'd suggest getting a normal job until you've figured out what you're going to do.

You could teach music... and probably write a column, to use your writing skills too. Also possibly singing in some restaurant?

How about a teaching assistant. Can you play the piano? Pianists are like gold dust in primary schools!
