fr Chuck-- you don't seem too priestly... hmmm..
Although I do agree with you-- bring our troops home from all over the world. Why should my tax dollars pay for all that? Plus, how woule WE feel if some forieng country had several military bases on OUR soil. Problem is, those countries also love the revenue we send them by having those bases there.

Anyway-- back to the question at hand.
I've noticed that we as Americans are a bit on the arrogant side-- that is, we think we know what's best for everybody and our policies are dictated to others. I think the greatness in our country really came from our "humility" and being good citizens in the world. By "Humility" I mean that we acknowledge we're not perfect, but we work to better our country (e.g. civil rights).

Many of us DO know that our standing and reputation has been tarnished. Those who DO NOT care about this are showing their arrogance. There are times when we do need to tell the rest of the world to p*ss off and there are many more times when we need to play nice in the sand box. Problem is we tend to mess up both of those cases.

It DOES matter what other countries think of us-- this is a global economy and we're not the only ones in it.

I think many people around the world and in th U.S. mistake, fighting an asymetric war in an exepedtionary manner, for being imperialism.

Operation Iraqi Freedom was textbook maneuvre warfare which toppled a regime in 19 days. Everything done by the U.S. since the fall of Bahgdad, has been in accordence with the Marine Corps small wars manual of 1940.

We understand that others may not like some of the things we do. But we also understand that a principled person (or country) cannot live or make decisions based upon what others will think or say about them. We have to do what's right, whether or not you like it.

What would you have us do? Should we do nothing and let terrorists run free and wild? Should we let North Korea and Iran nuke whoever they want? Should we stop feeding 75% of the world? Should we stop supplying billions and billions of dollars worth of medicine to the world? Should we stop handing out billions of dollars in aid? Should we stop coming to the immediate assistance to anyone who suffers a natural disaster?

Does your country do any of these things? Let alone ALL these things? Can you name another country that does all these things?

what's actual unfavorable our recognition is that our leftist academic equipment is so incompetent that individuals won't be able to spell undemanding phrases. Are we to anticipate you advise our contemporary government, no longer the previous one that had to go through via a president who gave sworn yet fake testimony in an obstruction of a sexual harassment lawsuit? no longer the only that had made a 2 confronted occupation of advertising criminal measures against the very element he so egregiously engaged in? no longer the only that made this variety of mess of our intelligence and protection rigidity purposes that we've been defenseless to 9/11? Or the only that gave this variety of susceptible reaction to the undesirable adult adult males that the Islamist fascists concept we would stay defenseless? in case you actual talk over with the real human beings distant places, they proceed to look to us for management because of the fact they understand their very own governments are hopeless, yet you will by no potential hear approximately that from our leftist information.

They have no respect for what we did for them, they would be talking german if it had not been for us.

And again, do we really care, if they don't want us, we can pull our troops out of Germany, France and all of Europe, bet they would change thier tunes then

And with so much of the laws they do in Europe, I am glad we do it differently, Again we are not Europe and should not care what they think

Yes. But remember, the United States tends to be an "inward looking" state, so you'll probably get many responses that say that they "don't care" what others think. But, please be aware that there is a "silent majority" that does indeed know this & cares.

I honestly wonder this at times also. But the sad truth is that I think most are so arrogant that they don't care.
